Cool Tool: Cereal and Cracker Boxes!

I don't always have the money to run out and buy a nice bamboo tray to organize small items in drawers. I've found some simple solutions which cost nothing but the time it takes to use a pair of scissors!

Custom-cut the bottoms off cereal boxes or cracker boxes to create great little compartments for make-up in a bathroom drawer or pens in a desk drawer. Some of the great little "containers" I've used include:
  • Cereal box bottoms
  • Cracker box bottoms
  • Old film cartridge cannisters
  • Tampon boxes
  • Boxes from make-up or hair products
  • Check boxes (both the lid and the box make great drawer dividers)
  • Egg carton bottoms (great for dividing beads, hair elastics or buttons)
  • Jewelry boxes (both the lid and the box)
  • Children's shoeboxes (both the lid and the box)
If you are desperate for some order in your drawers, use some of these simple methods to create inexpensive dividers. You'll love the organized result!
