VERTICAL

No, not vertigo, vertical!
One of my favorite tricks in organizing is the amazing power of storing things veritcally.

Imagine the bookshelf with a stack of books sitting on the shelf. You want a book in the middle of the stack. Now you have to masterfully lift up the books on top, while sliding out the selection, and place the stack back on the pile without creating an avalanche.

If those same books were sitting on the shelf library style, standing on their ends, spine facing you, you simply pull out the book you want. No other books are disturbed. No extra lifting. No avalanche.

Apply vertical storage--folding or rolling or standing items--to everything from frozen vegetables in my deep freeze to underwear. You can see every item at a glance, and access it without having to dig. TIME SAVER!

Did you know that old cassettes and VHS tapes also need to be stored vertically? It will help the tape live a little longer and stay on its spools straighter during long periods of storage.

The next time you put items in a drawer, on a shelf, or in a bin, think VERTICAL and test it out for yourself. I love it!

Tell me about anything you've stored vertically that really worked for you!
